SO long ago.

Those times when I lived at home. Those times that I worked for Wendys. That time that I worked for Franks Nursery that summer. Soccer Practice. 5th grade in a new school. Graduation at the old school. Houghton Lake. Canoeing the first time. Space Shuttle Challenger.

Now. Serial Killer in Flint. BP with one of the largest disasters of my lifetime. Kwame Kilpatrick. Chief Evans.

There are so many good things. Number 1. Kaya Lynn.

Number two? My wonderful GF and the life that shes shown me exists that I never knew about.

So much time has passed since I posted her last when kaya was simply a month old. Now shes her own little girl. With bits of me and her, bits of her and her brothers. I dont think I ever thought I would enjoy being a father. I dont always make the best choices in the world but if you dont make mistakes then you never learn how to deal with the hard times.

Books have been read. Movies have been seen. Time has been spent. Lives have been lived.

Jobs have been gained and lost.

I always say I want to do this more and then I always stop. Lets hope I can do this more.

So Much Change.

Its been about 6 weeks, slightly more. Kaya is doing very well.

We managed to get her diaper rash, which wasnt one, under control. Simply by NOT doing what doctors told us. We mixed baby powder and either A&D and some medicated stuff. And got it fixed.

We switched her to soy formula. Which seems to keep her MUCH more happy.

The nurse was out here last Friday, to take a look at Kaya. She either meets or WAY exceeds many of the things the nurse looked at. She almost holds her head up. She has some killer grip, the nurse had kaya hold her fingers, and pulled her up. Apparently her tracking ability is at the 3 month mark, instead of the slightly older than a one month mark..:) So, I suppose she chose her close for Warcraft already....Hunter....great....someone else to one shot me in PVP. I am sure since she already has "those eyes" that she is working on her one shot. Or distract.

If I could ask for one thing....sleep.

Oh well.

Sometimes I feel like I am doing a bad job, but hopefully its just one of those bad days.

A week and a month.

Its been just over a week since I have been here to post....and its just shy (two days) of being a month since Kaya was born. Time seems to be standing still and blazing past me all at the same time.

Work sort of sucks. There is a big menu change coming. (20th) And really for the most part, its sort of crazy, and going to cause me all kinds of issues at work.

For those who do restaurant work. We keep portioned burgers in a sliding drawer under the flat top. Good idea, if not a little rough on the back at the end of a Friday night. With the change nothing is portion anymore. So we have to scoop out burgers by order. Well when you sell some 200 mini burgers, and around 100 regular burgers, you spend a lot of time bent over....and not just in the non innuendo sort of way.

Kaya has had a "diaper rash". Not really what it was, and took us forever to get it under control. Which it now is. But now we have switched her to soy formula, as the regular just seemed to make her a huge gas bag that pooped like every 4 hours. It has been sort of rough.

I just read a article. 10 years later, the real story behind Columbine .

A pretty sobering view of what really happened, and what really could have happened and what really we get to see from the news....from the police, from our parents, and our teachers. From our mothers and fathers, from the people we trust.

Here we were all lead to believe that this JUST HAPPENED, and yet. It did not. It was WELL thought out, well planned. It was so much more, and could have been even so much more than that.

I have not been on Warcraft in almost a week, as whatever they did this patch has made it so that I cannot log in. I thought we were passed these days so long ago.

Its finally nice here in Michigan. 70 today, and yesterday, and its supposed to dip in the next couple days back down to a little below normal, but I will take it.

Might hit The Zoo today, who knows. It is just nice to sit. And I am so tired. Home from work at 1 ish, up about 5 with Kaya. I think its the reason I am having such a hard time with my days, really.

My birthday was monday, and it was great. Shannon and I took the kids to her parents and we went out. Only for a couple hours, but it was so nice to sit and talk. to have a could drinks out and just have a good time, and not really worry about all the crap going on around us for awhile.

I am so happy with Kaya, and Shannon and The Boys, yet at the same time I miss not having the extra weight of worry. Everytime Kaya smiles at me or looks AT me. The other day, she almost laughed. Shannon and I had been talking int he kitchen, and I was holding Kaya up and off to my right. I looked over and there she was with this HUGE grin on her face. She almost got a laugh out. I could feel it in her muscles as I held her.

This is also the first time in I cannot remember how long that I have sat here with headphones on and listened to music.

Hope everyone enjoys themsevles till I get around to posting again.

Strangeness

Returning from the dentist, I saw a old man walking very slowly down the sidewalk....backwards.

I also stopped to grab a bite at a place called Burito Loco. I hadnt eaten anything during the morning and had a huge cup of coffee so I was feeling a bit dizzy. I got a fish taco, and it was fantastic. A little pricey, but great food.

If you are in the area, check em out. They are on 12 mile. Right just west of the college, on the south side. Little tiny place.

All fresh ingredients, the ONE employee was very friendly, and informative. they did not have a WIDE selection, but man was it some good food.

Tigers Opening Day

BTW, it is also Detroit Tigers Opening day downtown. Go Tigers!

Wow, its been crazy.

It has just been crazy the last week or so.

GFs moms car died repeatedly after being fixed. We had Alecs 6 year old birthday party at Jeepers and her ex hubby and his mom were there, was a very awkward moment, but we all got along, and we all had a good time.

Kaya has gone back and forth with this diaper rash, that we just cannot seem to kick.

I am cooking Easter Brunch this weekend, but working as well later that day. It is my birthday coming up monday. It has really just been hectic.

Oh yea, and I broke a tooth, and have been in some serious pain for the last couple days. I went to the ER, after calling Urgent Care. I made a dentist appointment yesterday, but it got canceled and its this morning. So lets hope I can get this taken care of.

Michigan State lost the national championship. I worked downtown during the event, and had my picture taken with the NCAA trophy.

My first week as a new dad

Its the end of the first week as a new dad. Kaya and mom headed out to Childrens Hospital for some blood work that the pediatrician thought neccessary.

I have Alec with me today, and we played some baseball, and will be headed to school.

I have changed so many diapers this week, that i think MY butt is getting red.

I managed to squeeze in some Warcraft the other night, and got some nice gear. Between being back to work, everything else the week has just sort of flown by.

We have been lucky and Kaya is waking around 11 to midnight eating, sleeping till about 3 or 4. and then not up again till about 6 where she will just lay and coo till about 7 when she really starts to get hungry. During the day though she is up almost like clock work every two hours. And her diaper rash, from ALL the pooping at the hospital is starting to look pretty yuck. But hopefully we headed it off, and it will all be good..

that was just a quick update...thanks for reading.
